Wolcott

The Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago was just starting to blossom when this home was built, boasting modern 1990's design. Fast forward to today and enter the stage: a pair of empty nesters, seasoned dwellers of this abode for over two decades. Feeling the itch for change, they worked with us to transform the first floor including living/dining room, kitchen/family room and powder room. We started with a blank slate armed with only the glass block windows and the client's own art collection and love of bold color and pattern. A new fireplace and dry bar pave the way for luxe velvets, color blocking, bright boucle and a Missoni carpet. The kitchen got a gut with all new cabinets, countertops and appliances. This heart of the home lives somewhere in the middle of modern and traditional with shaker cabinets and imperfectly perfect Zellige tile.
