On Trend! Off-set and Hand Painted Stripes
We all know stripes will never go out of style, but I do love when you see a classic pattern used in a new way. As design moves a bit away from boho, stripes have popped up to imply structure, but not a traditional way.
Someone once said to me they would always choose a plaid over a stripe, but I disagree. You can do a lot with lines by offsetting them, changing directions, hand painting them and varying the scale.
This traditional stripe is running in both directions on the panels and cornice giving it a modern edge. Notice the wavy stripes on that ottoman as well.
I've pulled together some stripe forward items to help you see this classic pattern in a new light.
Do you prefer horizontal or vertical stripes?
